چکیده
Human granulocytic anaplasmosis is a febrile illness caused by Anaplasma phagocytophilum, an intracellular bacterium transmitted ticks that mainly prevalent in the United States and Europe. Five cases have been reported from Japan. A 63-year-old man was admitted to our hospital with 5-day history of high fever. The patient frequently worked mountainous areas having felt insect bite or thorn stick his right leg some days earlier. Laboratory investigations showed increased serum levels C-reactive protein, total bilirubin hepatobiliary enzymes. immediately started on treatment received minocycline 200 mg/day for 8 ceftriaxone sodium 2 g/day 6 suspected diagnosis rickettsiosis acute cholangitis, recovered eight days. Eventually, basis results tests antibodies tick-borne pathogens, which revealed increase antibody titers A. phagocytophilum paired sera, diagnosed as anaplasmosis. Different 5 previously Japan, this habitual drinker cholangitis complication him. Herein, we report unusual presentation severe disease complications human drinker.

Human granulocytic anaplasmosis.
A 64-year-old man was admitted with hypotension and respiratory failure after 3 weeks of low-grade fever, cough, fatigue, intermittent sweats, chronic diarrhea, and headache. Seven years earlier he was the recipient of an unrelated bone marrow transplant for relapsed B lymphoblastic leukemia and was currently off immunosuppressive therapy. He resided in New England and was an avid hunter. His w...

We retrospectively confirmed 2 cases of human Anaplasma phagocytophilum infection. Patient blood samples contained unique p44/msp2 for the pathogen, and antibodies bound to A. phagocytophilum antigens propagated in THP-1 rather than HL60 cells. Unless both cell lines are used for serodiagnosis of rickettsiosis-like infections, cases of human granulocytic anaplasmosis could go undetected.
متن کاملA case of Sweet syndrome associated with human granulocytic anaplasmosis.
BACKGROUND Acute febrile neutrophilic dermatosis, or Sweet syndrome (SS), is a condition that is presumed to be triggered by infectious disease agents. We report a case of SS associated with human granulocytic anaplasmosis (HGA), which is of interest because Anaplasma phagocytophilum infects, multiplies in, and disrupts the function of neutrophils, the key infiltrating cell in SS. OBSERVATION...
متن کاملFirst case of human granulocytic anaplasmosis from Slovakia.
In order to evaluate the potential risks of human granulocytic anaplasmosis in Slovakia, blood and serum samples of hunters and foresters from the northern parth of Slovakia were tested. We present the first case of HGA from Slovakia confirmed by nested PCR amplification of the 16S rRNA gene fragment of A. phagocytophilum.
